Ramp Mats Perhaps the most important flooring on a horsebox or trailer, is the ramp mat. To ensure there are no accidents on the ramp, worn material must be removed so there is no trip hazard, and replacing with an identical material may not always be the answer. We have two main mats used for ramps - both are heavy duty materials, and while we can also supply lighter duty materials such as simple ribbed matting our experience is that better quality mats not only last longer, but are much safer to use. |

Gripface Mats As a lightweight alternative, this hard-wearing material is supplied in either Black rubber or Green PVC (new for 2007 - see above). Both materials are equally hard-wearing and robust enough to stand the rigours of loading and unloading even studded horses. The black is available in 1.2m and 1.5m wide roll form while the green can be supplied in 1.2m, 1.8m or 2m roll. Moulded Ramp Mats For more conventional lorries, the moulded ramp mat in black rubber can be used. The weight of these mats is sometimes an issue and before selecting this type of mat it is advisable to check the ramp for adjustment to allow for the extra weight (2 mats are normally used at 54kgs in total). |
